“Specially designed for the not-so-slim”.
This lovely little blouse-cardigan comes from the Australian Women’s Weekly Knitting Book for 1949.
It may be hard to see in the photo (it’s a newsprint pattern), but the lace body leads up to a moss stitch yoke across the upper chest and shoulders – a really flattering and interesting design element in my opinion.
Wouldn’t this look really lovely over a dirndl skirt like the model is wearing? With espadrilles!
A finished size of 42 inches across the bust, and knit using a fingering weight cotton yarn.
