Subversive Femme

Ferncliff, three piece suit and beret, Minverva 38 c.1934

Today’s free vintage knitting pattern is from Minerva 38 (1934).

This three piece suit is knitted in 2-ply (lace) weight yarn on 2.25 and 2.75mm needles – the beret on a 1.75mm crochet hook (eep). I really like the beret, but i’m not sure I have the stamina to make something that fine.

(PS Size 16 is for a 34 inch bust and 37 inch hip).

Gorgeous! My crocheting isn't anything to write home about but I'd really like to make a beret like that. I dream of summer knits!

hi there! I've been an occasional lurker on your blog for a while. The recent posts about you wanting to keep your patterns for free made me think of a booklet my grandma was giving away. Not sure if it's your style or not, but it's a Spinnerin Handknits for Youngsters infants to age 12, copyrighted 1952. If you would like the booklet, let me know, and I'll send it off to you. It IS a US one, so not sure if that makes a difference for you. Hope you are having a great day!
