FO: 1950s Marble from A Stitch in Time Volume 3 (Weldons 834)
As soon as I got a copy of Susan Crawford’s latest A Stitch in Time V3 book, I knew I needed to make the Marble pattern. A 1950’s fairisle, plus stripes, plus a wild pink, turquoise and yellow colour palette? I’m in! This is the original pattern image below:

And here is my version, knitted using Cascade Heritage Sock (one of my favourite yarns)

I have to admit – it took nearly 8 months of solid knitting to complete, but that’s mostly because I couldn’t get the correct gauge and had to frog it back in sections and re-knit it.
For modifications:
- Lengthened the body to 14 inches
- Added a couple of extra brown stitches to the fairisle pattern to smooth out the repeats
- Used a stretchy interlock bind off on the neck

Overall, I’m thrilled.
It gives very ‘juvenile delinquent’ vibes, and the colourway is really wild for the 1950s. I’d recommend it for people who like a challenge – the effort it worth it!
