This newsprint booklet was produced in Australia during World War Two, to cheer up bored knitters and add some glamour back to their lives in the time of rations and coupons. Based on the New Idea numbering, this would have produced in 1943.

Famous actresses from the 1940s model the designs, such as Judy Garland, Bette Davis, Ann Blyth, Barbara Stanwyck and Carole Landis. There are even two men’s designs, modeled by Charles Korvin and Paul Henreid.

The contents include jumpers, cardigans, suits and skirts, a ski-set, gloves, evening wear and two men’s pullovers.

Most designs are sized for 32/34/36 inch bust.
