Curvy Month Pattern 8: On the Mall, c. 1948

Today’s free vintage knitting pattern comes from Chadwick’s Women’s Sweater Book No 248 , and is for a delightful cardigan-jacket. It’s knitted with a subtle cable pattern which looks really smart!
You might want to consider the pattern I just posted last time – they’re both from 1948. The US is moving quickly into the 1950s form fitted styles with with shorter hair, while Australia is taking it’s fashion lead from the Britain and keeping with a more conservative style of the mid 1940s.
- Finished sizes: 32, 34, 36 and 38 inches
- Yarn: Fingering weight
- Needles: US 3, metric 3mm

Oh wow thankyou for showing me! Sorry to hear you had issues with the button band – it looks fabulous as a jumper tho!

Thanks! And lol I looked at my angry project notes and sorry I’m so dramatic! I was just moody because this has been languishing 99% finished in a drawer for 3 months and I probably wasn’t skilled at crochet and sewing enough for this project.
