I got promoted!

YAY!

As of Monday, i’ll be working in Back Flow. More work + more money = happy Bex.
(Back Flow is not as seedy as it sounds, really).

In other news, i was reading this blog and stumbled across the chance remark that Craigslist Australia is really bad for rental scams. It wouldnt even cross my mind to look for a house to rent on Craigslist.

Got me thinking.

2 Bedroom security unit with water views, and lets you have a dog and cat? Thats rare.
A fully FUNNISHED apartment? Spell Check anyone?
Cheap unit for rent in greater Sydney, on Rue Lepic near the Monoprix? Ummm. This is Sydney Australia right?
$600 a month – 2 bedroom house in Sydney? Hmmm.
Best one – $150 a week, 2 bedroom unit on the Bondi waterfront, and pets are ok! Anyone else think that picture is photoshopped? The perspective is really off.

The strange thing is, most of the poster’s email addresses are @yahoo.com. Its nearly impossible to get a yahoo.com address if you live in Australia (it defaults to .com.au). And they use their full name as their email address as well – not a good idea for spam prevention.

The majority of the photos look like they have been taken from a designer living magazine too – i’ve been renting long enough to be familiar with the photos on Realestate.com.au and Domain.com.au, and designer they aint.

All reeks of dodgyness.
