At the Viva Las Vegas car show last year I spotted someone wearing a gorgeous vintage dress – similar to a pake muu, but with shorter sleeves and knew I had to recreate it!
The base pattern is Simplicity 8244 (a repro from 1954) that I’ve made many times. I used a standard pake muu sleeve cut much shorter, and the red contrast is just a cuff.

I also made a red contrast sash, and used a red frog closure.
The rayon fabric is a repro of a true vintage fabric (I think it’s a Catalina), covered in travel labels. I found it on eBay a while ago.

Overall, I’m so happy with it!!!! The fabric is gorgeous and the fit is perfect. I can’t wait to wear it to Viva next year!
