Free pattern: Monarch Lace Blouse, c. 1941

Today’s free vintage knitting pattern is from Monarch Hand Knit Styles Book. 79 first printed in 1941, and is described thus.

“The lacy pattern in front and sleeves makes this a dressy blouse for numerous occasions. Buttons up front to high neckline. Ribbed cuffs on short sleeves and at bottom finish the garment. Plain back.”

  • Finished size 35″ bust
  • Yarn: Monarch Ann Dora, which appears to be fingering weight
  • Needles: UK 12 and 13, or 2.25mm and 2.25mm

    Do you have any suggestions so far as estimating yardage for vintage patterns?

      Hi there, I usually check Ravelry first to see if the yardage per skein is available, and then work how much I would need + add 10%.

      If they don’t have the yardage on Rav, I’ll pick a similar weight yarn and do the same thing.
